Over the skies of Germany, toward the end of WWII in 1944, the first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft took flight, the Messerschmitt Me-262. The Messerschmitt Me-262A could go up to 560 mph, a hundred mph faster than the top speed of the Mustang, which topped out at 455 mph, but the P-51 had a significantly better turning radius allowing it to escape the enemies from their attack.
Arguably, either plane could be considered better than the other and a continual debate through today. When pitted against each other in dogfights, the pilots were the overall factor. Since the Messershmitt entered the war late and was more difficult to train pilots, the reliable P-51D Mustang continued with undeniable success throughout the war, making it difficult to fully compare these two war machines.
All paints, glue and brushes are included to complete the kit. Additional paints may be required to complete models to a higher specification.
